You should know the following things for the final exam:
1. Vocabulary (Check the list on the paper I gave you)
- · (Reading & Writing book, p. 5, 10, 11, 29, 36, 53, 59, 60, 77, 83)
- · prefixes (un-, in-, im-, dis-)
- · suffixes (-ful, -al, -less, -able)
2. Reading skills
- · finding the main idea
- · guessing the meaning of new words (look before, after, and inside the word)
- · taking notes on important points
3. Writing skills
- how to write a topic sentence, support sentences, and concluding sentence
- how to write “background information” before your topic sentence
- how to use vocabulary in your writing (nouns, verbs, adjectives)
- how to use transition words (First, However, Therefore, In addition, To sum up, etc.)
- how to give examples (For example, For instance, such as, like)
4. Grammar
- · present continuous tense (be + V + ing) and present simple tense (V)
- · simple future tense (will probably, will definitely, will likely, etc.)
- · simple past tense (go à went) – Sentences, Negative sentences, and Questions
- · subject-verb agreement (People like / My friend likes)
- · plural (person à people thing à things)
- · modal verbs (will, may, might)
